1. Body language: -Expressions will be limited and stiff, body movements will be few and restricted. -The person will avoid making an eye contact. -He will be fidgety and will touch and scratch his nose and ear lobe etc., though he is unlikely to put an open hand on his chest.
2. Emotional gestures: - emotional gestures are off the normal place. The emotions displayed stay for longer time and are gone suddenly the emotional gestures made and expressions used are at wrong timings. Facial expressions don’t match the words said. - limited to mouth movements only, the emotion does not reflect on the face when someone fakes it.
3. Interactions and Reactions - A liar will get defensive while the innocent gets offensive. - A liar will be uncomfortable and will turn his head or body away from you.
4. Other signs of lie: - if you believe that someone is lying, then change the topic of conversation and he will follow willingly and will be more relaxed while the innocent may get confused and will want to go back to the previous one. - The liar may use sarcasm in order to avoid the subject or change the topic.
Lastly, please remember that just because a person shows one of these signs, he does not become a liar. This must be compared to the normal behaviour of the person whenever possible!
