Master Blaster Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar receives Bharat Ratna from the President. Sachin become the first sportsmen to receive this award.

Sachin said after award ceremony that it is his "greatest honour" and said he "will continue to bat for India and try my best to give the people of India a reason to smile." 

Tendulkar is regarded as one of the greatest batsmen ever. He is the world's leading run-scorer in both Test (14,692) and ODI (18,111) cricket. He retired from the cricket in the last year. Sachin is one of sportsmen with a huge fan support all around the world. All Indians are proud to say that Sachin is the greatest cricket ever.

Among many awards he had won - the most prominent ones are: Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian award, and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, India's highest sporting honour.

Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award is given to the real cricketing legend is a proud moment for all Sachin fans. So it’s a great day for all cricketing fans.
